The cash will strengthen Iberdrola's push to build more wind farms in the U.S., the world's largest market for wind power.

The announcement seemed designed to damp criticism from congressional Republicans and conservative commentators about the amount of U.S. government money Iberdrola is getting under a new federal renewable-energy subsidy program. When the federal government handed out $502 million in cash grants last week, Iberdrola received a majority of the funds--$294 million --for five projects in Oregon, Texas, Pennsylvania and Minnesota.

Full Story

Oil & Gas Royalty Aquisition

Oil & Gas Royalty Aquisition

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 5px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 203px; height: 90px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/__5YUMdGaagg/SqflgyHcZ0I/AAAAAAAAAnw/Q7IH3tDCotk/s320/charlie-brown-logo.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379520631288915778" />Charlie Brown Royalty is a family-owned limited liability company that specializes in the acquisition and management of producing oil and gas properties. They strike the right balance, a balance that recognizes the importance of a healthy industry and the importance of healthy communities, water supplies and wildlife," the governor said.

Full Story

NPRA's Drevna expresses concern over cap-and-trade bill's provisions

WASHINGTON, DC, Apr. 27 -- US refiners have serious concerns about proposed climate change legislation's ability to support new technologies for reliable, affordable, and clean energy fuels, a leading petroleum trade association's president told Congress.

A law to address climate change should set a realistic carbon reduction target without political preconceptions or punitive provisions, Charles T. With names like Williams Companies, Devon and Chesapeake it is clear that energy remains important to Oklahoma today. But just how important is it?

This week, the University of Central Oklahoma Policy Institute (www.uco.edu/ucopi), a nonpartisan public policy think tank housed at the UCO released a new report (full disclosure: I authored the report) that quantifies the economic impact of this industry. The report notes that the true impact of the oil and natural gas industry extends far beyond the industry itself. In fact every industry in Oklahoma benefits from the presence of the oil and natural gas industry here.

Full Story

Oil and Gas Acquisition buyer

Obama budget irks Oklahoma delegation

BY CHRIS CASTEEL

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama’s first budget would cut payments to some farmers and raise taxes on oil and gas companies. The proposals — most of which would have to be approved by Congress — drew swift reaction from members of Oklahoma’s congressional delegation and industry groups.

Rep. They also should prepare for wild claims about associated “costs.”
Deepwater royalty relief, one of the most effective energy programs in US history, elicited outrage in 2006 when the New York Times reported that the federal budget lacked estimates of royalty income for deepwater Gulf of Mexico leases issued in 1998 and 1999. The leases didn’t reinstate royalty, as did those issued in similarly administered years, when oil and gas prices exceeded statutory “thresholds.”

Courts, meanwhile, have been addressing the question whether the Department of the Interior’s Minerals Management Service had authority to limit royalty relief on the basis of price for leases issued in the five years from 1996 through 2000. So far, the consistent answer is no.
Full Story in Oil and Gas Journal Feb 2009

Carrizo Oil & Gas, Inc. Through October, Tarrant's production of 125.5 billion cubic feet amounted to almost one-quarter of the field's total of 509.9 billion cubic feet. According to the Texas Railroad Commission, Tarrant County now ranks ninth among Texas' 238 counties in natural gas production. The coming of Barnett Shale drilling has given landowners and real estate agents a quick course in Texas' energy property laws, particularly what is known as the "severability" of surface and underground mineral rights. Residential real estate agents who once had to worry only about location and condition of houses now find themselves caught in disputes between buyers, with an eye to mineral rights below a small residential lot, and sellers who plan to move away but want to keep the mineral rights.
[Fort Worth Star-Telegram]

Energynet - Oil & The day-to-day accounting requirements of oil and gas royalties are tedious and time consuming from Joint Interest Billing to lease negotiations.

Traditionally large royalty trusts and institutional investors have relied on local banks to provide royalty management services, however, at times these banks do not provide the ideal solution for efficient monitoring and analysis of royalty investments. Insomuch as oil and gas royalties are not the core competency of the banks, these institutions can leave many stones unturned in the day-to-day accounting process.

Welcome to Oil and Gas Royalties!

If you're an oil and gas royalty investor, you will appreciate this blog about oil and gas royalty investments and oil and gas royalty management.
